How I Celebrated

I have to say, I was hyping myself up for this day for a long time just thinking about how good clams and muscles are and why should snails be any different? Some recipes even looked good. Well, I think most of it was mental. They smelled a little weird, but they also smelled kind of good. The texture wasn't different than I was expecting, slightly chewy just like clams, but I think looking at them is also not very appetizing. If you bite into them, they look all veiny like chicken tendons (the part of chickens that grosses me out cause it is way too stringy). But, if you just pop them in your mouth with a few other things and imagine a cooked mushroom (cause they are black) then it isn't too bad. I didn't throw any away from my bowl, still I probably wont eat the leftovers in the fridge.

History

Punchbowl
Besides the fact that they are probably laced with garden chemicals, I am surprised we do not try to consume them more often here in America if they are seen as pests AND if they are really good for you. Especially if they are similar to clams at all, since seafood is so expensive.
